December 2 - Sunday - Annual Membership Meeting/ Holiday Party.
Time: 12:00 - 4:00pm
Traditionally, the NYC-Long Island Section gathers at the elegant, The Inn at New Hyde Park - www.innatnhp.com . For 2012, we have secured the Conservatory banquet room on the main-level /street level, easily accessible for all. There is a patio adjacent to the room overlooking the garden. Join us and share season wishes with fellow M-B members. The menu includes six entree choices. One often requested menu item is Sauerbraten. .

There is still time for you to update your membership! Your Board of Directors has voted to reward your Club Loyalty. We will call this the "Fall Membership Drive." Members between now and the end-of-the-year 2012 who increases their membership for three years to 2015 will qualify for a free gift. This is in addition to the NBO incentive of getting more months free for each year you increase your membership.
- Renew your membership for 3 years and get 3 additional months of membership FREE (39 months for the price of 36) or
- Renew your membership for 2 years and get 2 additional months of membership FREE (26 months for the price of 24)

President's Message
Please RSVP for your NYC-LI Holiday Party this week! Due to Hurricane Sandy -- we have retained the price of $40 per person. A great time is always had by all! Details below!
This past month has been a very difficult one for many of our members as Hurricane Sandy has affected our Section. Many of us lived for days without electricity. That meant no internet, no phone, flooded basements, and damaged automobiles. As of this writing, about a month after the storm life has yet to return to normal. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
As the year draws to a close it is time to reflect and look ahead. The past year has been a very good one for our club. We began the year by recognizing many of you that have been long time members of our club at Exotic Classic in Syosset. We met members there that had never been to an event. The setting was perfect, among 100 classics cars in a warm inviting space. As usual the conversation was good, how could it not be, with all of us sharing Mercedes Benz stories.
Probably the signature event of the year was held at the end of September, The Legends of the Autobahn. At this event we had well over 50 member cars, the most in recent memory and a California weather day. There were many Mercedes Benz's from the 50's with at least a half dozen extremely well kept 190's and even a one family owned 300SL. Of course there were several 2012's as well, including an SLS. The bread and butter Mercedes Benz's were well represented too. The 'Most liked to own' was a 1993 E500 presented by a new member, Daniel Foote, who signed up that day. Present as well were several everyday drivers including one that was written up in the Star. On the field as well were the Porsche and BMW club and a few Ferrari's. We are already making plans to make next year's Legends an even bigger event.
Next year promises to be exciting. We will again meet at Exotic Classics in March to celebrate all those that are signed up to 2015 with MBCA. We will also be visiting at least one private collection right here on Long Island. In June we will again journey to New Jersey for the 50th June Jamboree.
The Board of Directors of the New York City-Long Island Section extends its' best wishes to you and your family for a happy healthy and prosperous New Year. The Board is always looking for ways to improve the club and if you would like to join us please let us know.
